Compliance with GDPR and Email Archiving

With the implementation in Europe of the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), MailStore has updated its software to ensure broader compliance.

A complete, efficient and fast text search function

The function integrated in MailStore Server allows a search and extraction to be made in all emails and attachments. This means that you can effectively transfer requested information to third parties and provide temporary proof of access to emails.

Retention Period Policies

Highly developed retention policies, which can help customers to comply with GDPR requirements, in particular the right of individuals to have their personal data removed. In this way, administrators can now determine individual policies, thereby achieving complete control over the duration of the email archive. They can even determine if and when emails are automatically deleted from the archive, which will allow them to comply with the various retention policies that are determined by law.

Better security policies

MailStore Server and SPE now support the Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.1 and 1.2 hybrid encryption protocol for secure data transfer. This results in a significant increase in the level of security. This new functionality relates to the integration of the IMAP server: as of version 11, authentication via an unsecured connection is no longer possible.

Backup: warning

A company’s IT strategy should include regular backups of the email file. MailStore Server administrators now have backup notices with version 11 of the MailStore. So the backup is never forgotten, administrators receive a warning on the dashboard and a status report that reminds them that it is necessary to backup.

An automated Audit tool

MailStore Server also has an audit log that gives a detailed log of activities on the file system.
